During my career in the film industry:
→ I delivered on the role as 1AAP, Assistant Accountant - General and Construction Accountant.
→ Hired to work on features with a production budget of >$100M and a tv series >$4.5M per episode.
→ A comprehensive understanding of tax credits.
→ Work experience with various unions throughout the provinces: BCCFU and DGC; specialized working knowledge of the NOHFC (Northern Ontario).
As a member of the DGC ON accounting caucus and IATSE Local 891 Accounting Department, I feel privileged to have worked with seasoned key production accountants, UPM/PMs and executive producers recognized by US studios such as Lionsgate, Legendary Films and Warner Brothers to name a few.

As an IT human resources manager, I played a pivotal role in the strategic planning process to attract and retain technical talent specializing in network security for projects with Fortune 500 companies. I served as a liaison between management and employees, ensuring effective communication of company policies, procedures, and updates. Additionally, I ensured adherence to labor laws and regulations, including those concerning employment, discrimination, and workplace safety.

Notable works
"The Long Walk"
A feature film shot in Manitoba, based on Stephen King's novel and directed by Francis Lawrence from the "Hunger Games", I came into the production as a 1AAP replacement during the second week of principal photography. This role was extensive in the movement of cast & crew, payments to ATLs (US) and BG performers. Knowledge gained: IATSE Local 856 Collective Agreement.

"Kung Fu", Season 1
This episodic production was filmed in British Columbia during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. I was engaged as an Assistant Accountant from episodes 4 to 13, with the primary duty of managing payments for the entire on-set crew and generating daily labor hot cost reports. The role was executed remotely, necessitating the acquisition of new processes and organizational skills to ensure timely payroll issuance. The experience demonstrated the feasibility of conducting payroll operations remotely.

"Skyscraper"
This mega budget feature produced in British Columbia was my first work experience as a Construction Accountant. The role enabled me to employ my full set of skills as an accounts payable and payroll accountant which oversaw and tracked the expenditures of the Construction and Paint departments. Additionally, it was my first direct cost reporting role to a US based Controller. Knowledge gained: An insight to costs reporting discussions between key accountant and studio controller.
